M.S. in Computer Science: CIS 701 Master's Thesis (Apr 12, 2001)
Information
- A guide to the MS Thesis is available in MS Word,
Postscript, and PDF formats.
- Before registration for CIS 701 Master's Thesis, approval by the
thesis advisor and the Associate Chair for Graduate Studies are required.
The student prepares three copies of a thesis proposal (one for the student,
one for the thesis advisor and one for the Department). The copy intended for
the Department must be signed by both the thesis advisor.
After all signatures are obtained, the student submits the thesis proposal
to the Graduate Advisor.
- If the Associate Chair for Graduate Studies approves the proposal,
the graduate advisor notifies the student on how to register for CIS701.
The graduate advisor informs the person responsible for closed courses in the
Department about potential registration in CIS 701.
- CIS 701 is a closed-course. The student obtains a closed-course form
from the Registrar's office or the Department. The student needs two signatures to
register for CIS 701B: one from the thesis advisor and one from the
person responsible for closed courses in the Department, who had been
notified about CIS 701 registration by the graduate advisor in step 2.
- A signed copy of the final thesis must be submitted to the Department
(GSO deadlines apply).
- Samples of past theses and dissertations are available at the NJIT Library's Electronic Theses and Dissertation Project.
